Along the 7 km route between the ice rink and Flappachweiher outdoor swimming lake, numerous information boards describe the local forest’s flora and fauna. The Flappach forest restaurant is beside the lake. Follow the wooden squirrel trail marker. The walk takes about 3 hours.

Locherholz wildlife park lies in an idyllic spot between Ravensburg and Schlier, near the village of Hinzistobel. Here you can observe mouflon, fallow deer and wild boar in their natural surroundings. There is a children’s playground and a barbecue hut with a fire pit—perfect for a break. Several signposted hiking trails invite you to explore the area. The Hirscheck restaurant, where you can stop for a meal, is right by the car park.

Explore the fascinating ravine landscape around the Höllbach! Höllplatte has hiking trails and a barbecue area, while the Höll restaurant offers ample parking. Another highlight is the waterfall in Rinkenburger Tobel, not far from Höll. The car park at Rinkenburger Tobel is the perfect starting point for exploring the region’s impressive natural landscape.

You can set off on a relaxing stroll or a longer hike directly from the farm. Nearby highlights include:

Katzenbuckel (300m): from the hill on the farm, enjoy views across the Schussental valley and the Lake Constance area.

The Schwarzach stream, which marks the border with the Lake Constance district, and the Burgholz-Alznach forest. This woodland right beside the farm has steep slopes and offers interesting walks. It is ideal for children to run around and explore, with the Schwarzach making for an exciting adventure!

The Egelsee nature reserve, home to rare wildlife (about 1,5 km from the farm), and Metelisweiher pond (about 1 km from the farm). In summer, go swimming; in winter, go ice-skating.

Knellesberger Höhe (about 1,5 km from the farm) and Ravensburger Spieleland: enjoy a wonderful view across the Lake Constance area from the hill. From there, you can continue hiking to the Tettnang Hop Museum or Ravensburger Spieleland (about 20min on foot).

One of Germany’s first long-distance cycle routes follows the Upper Swabian Baroque Route through the rolling countryside to the northern shore of Lake Constance. Once, wealthy monasteries under the rule of powerful abbots amassed a rich trove of Baroque treasures here. They brought artists and craftspeople from across Europe, who left behind a magnificent Baroque ensemble.

As you pass through tiny villages, you will discover richly decorated churches, and the region still has a diverse monastic landscape with remarkable architecture.
