Nature experience Gut Hügle

The landscape of Upper Swabia literally invites you to be outside. And that in almost any weather! Hikers, joggers and cyclists appreciate the charming, immediate surroundings of our farm.

An untouched, wild and romantic natural landscape awaits you here: streams meander through forests and ravines, while impressive rock faces rise up from the earth. Idyllic paths lead you past steep slopes and deep gorges, lined with hidden, cozy places to linger.

Animal and plant lovers will find the Egelsee nature reserve near Gornhofen and the Kemmerlanger Moos nature reserve in the immediate vicinity. More than 200 plant species, some of them extremely rare, have been recorded in the forests of the surrounding area, including magnificent orchid species such as lady's slipper or purple orchid.

Forest nature trail

There are numerous information boards on the flora and fauna of the local forest along a 7 km stretch between the ice stadium and the Flappachweiher outdoor forest pool. The Flappach forest restaurant is located at the Flappachweiher. The signpost is a squirrel carved in wood. Hiking time about 3 hours.

Locherholz game reserve

The Locherholz game reserve is idyllically situated between Ravensburg and Schlier, near the village of Hinzistobel. Here you can observe mouflon, fallow deer and wild boar in their natural environment. In addition to a children's playground, there is also a barbecue hut with a fireplace - perfect for a break. Several marked hiking trails invite you to explore the surrounding area. The Hirscheck restaurant is located right next to the parking lot for a cozy stop.

Höllwald & Rinkenburger Tobel

Experience the fascinating ravine paradise around the Höllbach! The Höllplatte offers hiking trails and a barbecue area, while there are plenty of parking spaces at the Höll restaurant. Another highlight is the waterfall in Rinkenburger Tobel, which is not far from Höll. The parking lot at Rinkenburger Tobel is the perfect starting point for exploring the region's impressive natural landscape.

Hiking around the farm

Between the Danube and Lake Constance, you can experience the gentle transition of landscapes on a bike particularly well: from the Upper Swabian moorland and reedlands to the lovely shore region of Lake Constance, from the ice-age drumlins in the Württemberg Allgäu to the impressive Alpine panorama - you will always find yourself in the midst of a magnificent, unspoilt natural landscape!

One of the first long-distance cycle routes in Germany leads along the Upper Swabian Baroque Route through the hilly landscape of Upper Swabia to the northern shore of Lake Constance. Under the direction of powerful abbots, once wealthy monasteries here left behind a rich treasure trove of baroque treasures. They recruited artists and craftsmen from all over Europe, who left behind a magnificent baroque ensemble.

As you pass through tiny villages, you will discover richly decorated churches and a diverse monastery landscape with architecture worth seeing still exists today. The baroque attitude to life is best experienced in cosy inns, whose tree-lined beer gardens and down-to-earth country cuisine always tempt you to take a break.
