The house’s origins, including its historic cellar and some of its walls, date back to the Middle Ages. The main structure dates from the late 16th century; its size, construction and prominent location suggest it once served as an impressive representative building—which is why it is called Amtshaus.
The Amtshaus has been extensively modernised. The holiday apartments meet the latest standards for thermal and sound insulation and are furnished to a high standard in a contemporary style. Clean, simple designs are paired with solid oak parquet in the living and sleeping areas, natural slate in the bathroom, designer fittings, Raindance showers, flat-screen TV, free professional Wi-Fi and fully equipped fitted kitchens with an oven, extractor hood, dishwasher, crockery and coffee machine.
A laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer (for a fee) is available in the basement. We rent out holiday apartments only; room service is not included in the price but can be added by arrangement.
Free parking is available just 150 m away at Bleiche.
There is no reception at the Amtshaus; it is at Gut Hügle in Bottenreute, about 30 km away (30 minutes by car). You can enjoy breakfast at Gut Hügle or at one of the many cafés close to the Amtshaus. After prepayment, you will receive the access code for the key safe. Check-in is available from 16:00; paid early check-in from 13:00 can be added. Check-out is by 11:00.

Long-stay discounts and extended stays
Guests booking a longer stay benefit from attractive special rates:
- From 7 nights, discounted rates are available all year round (excluding peak dates).
- In the low season from November to March, special rates apply from 28 nights. These offers can only be booked online through our website.
As one of Germany’s sunniest spa towns, the municipality of Bad Waldsee charges a spa tax of 2,00 € per person per day. The arrival and departure days together count as one day of stay.
