The origins of the house, including the historic cellar and some of the walls, date back to the Middle Ages. The building dates back to the late 16th century and its size, construction and prominent location indicate that it was once used as a prestigious building - hence the name Amtshaus.

The Amtshaus has been extensively modernized and has barrier-free access to all six floors thanks to an elevator. The vacation apartments have state-of-the-art thermal and acoustic insulation and are furnished to a high standard with modern furnishings. Clear and simple designs meet solid oak parquet flooring in the living and sleeping areas, natural slate in the bathroom, designer fittings, Raindance showers, flat-screen TV, free professional WiFi and fully equipped fitted kitchens with oven, extractor fan, dishwasher, crockery and coffee machine.

A laundry room with washing machine and dryer is available in the basement (for a fee). We only rent out vacation apartments; room service is not included in the price, but can be booked by arrangement.

Free parking is available just 150 meters away on the Bleiche.

There is no reception at Amtshaus - this is located at Gut Hügle in Bottenreute, around 30 km away (30 minutes by car). You can enjoy breakfast at Gut Hügle or in the numerous cafés in the immediate vicinity of the Amtshaus. After paying in advance, you will receive the access code for the combination lock. Check-in is possible from 16:00, early check-in from 13:00 can be booked for a fee. Check-out is until 11:00 am.

Long-term discounts & permanent stays

Long-term bookers benefit from attractive special prices:

- For stays of 7 nights or more, you will receive discounted prices all year round (except on peak days).

- In the low season from November to March, special rates apply from 28 nights. These offers can only be booked online via our website.

As one of the sunniest health resorts in Germany, the municipality of Bad Waldsee charges a visitor's tax of € 2.00 per person per day. The day of arrival and departure count together as one day's stay.
